New Friends New Life
In 1997, an exotic dancer entered a local church seeking help. The church’s women's group helped her find employment and provided the ongoing support she needed to make a fresh start. Soon she began bringing friends to the church, and the group organized to help more women escape sexual exploitation. These initial efforts blossomed into what New Friends New Life provides today – evidence-based programs to help survivors recover from complex trauma, rebuild lives, and thrive.
New Friends New Life offers comprehensive programming to nearly 400 women, teens, and children annually. Their effort restores and empowers trafficked and sexually exploited teen girls, women and their children, and drives awareness of the issue and its prevalence.
By providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health and spiritual support, New Friends New Life helps women and their children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities.
One of the reasons we were so drawn to the mission at New Friends New Life Program, beyond the incredible faithfulness and dedication of the people, is their structure and the intentional design in guiding girls and women through a four-phase process from desperate for help to determine for healing.
Phase 1 known as Earth, Phase 2: Wood, Pase 3: Fire, and Phase 4: Metal.
Women enrolled in the phase program are eligible for financial benefits, and when a woman completes the New Friends New Life program, they are honored with a graduation ceremony and dinner to celebrate their big launch from New Friends New Life to their new life.
As with the other anti-trafficking organizations we desire to support and partner with, we invite you to visit the New Friends New Life website to learn more about them, their varied programs, and how you are able to support and serve them.
